SBA24® alleviates the symptoms of dry mouth

Sea buckthorn oil alleviates the symptoms of the dry mouth syndrome. An unpleasant dry feeling in the mouth is the side effect of several different illnesses, medications, stress and ageing. 10-39% of adult population suffers from dryness in the mouth, and it’s even more common with women and the elderly.

Usually dry mouth is connected to reduced saliva production and hypofunction of the salivary gland. Clinical studies have shown that SBA24® sea buckthorn oil alleviates the symptoms of dry mouth.  

A small double-blind trial on women suffering from Sjögren’s syndrome and thus from dry mouth showed that sea buckthorn oil can be used to treat patients with significantly reduced saliva production. (Source: LeBell et al. 2002)

Besides the valuable fatty acids; Omega-3, -6, -7 and -9, sea buckthorn oil also includes vitamin E and vitamin A (from beta-carotene). Vitamin A contributes to the maintenance of normal skin, mucous membranes and vision.
